Why we serve: Our commitment to veterans
We created this program after seeing too many veterans return home carrying invisible wounds—trauma, addiction, homelessness, isolation, and the loss of purpose—without the long-term support needed to rebuild their lives. These men and women served our country, yet many struggle to find safe housing, meaningful work, trusted relationships, and a community where they feel valued again.
Our main goal is to help veterans move from crisis and dependency to stability, purpose, and lasting independence. Through safe supportive housing, the 3Rs Program—Rebuild, Restart, and Reclaim—recovery support, mentoring, job training, education, farm-based work therapy, and personal accountability, we want each veteran to heal, rebuild healthy relationships, develop dependable income, and reclaim a meaningful place in the community.

The 3Rs program: Rebuild, Restart, Reclaim
“Rebuild, Restart, and Reclaim” is a structured pathway that helps veterans move from instability to long-term independence. The farm provides a peaceful, supportive environment where they can heal while rebuilding discipline, confidence, and purpose.
Rebuild begins with stabilization. Veterans receive safe supportive housing, nutritious food, recovery support, mentoring, transportation assistance, and help connecting with healthcare and community resources. They establish healthy daily routines, attend recovery meetings and classes, complete household responsibilities, and begin addressing barriers such as trauma, addiction, unemployment, and damaged relationships.
Restart focuses on developing skills and moving forward. Veterans participate in farm-based work therapy, including caring for chickens, collecting and preparing eggs, gardening, greenhouse work, orchard maintenance, beekeeping with trained supervision, property upkeep, and other hands-on projects.
Reclaim helps veterans take ownership of their future. Participants work toward stable employment or education, dependable income, improved health, reliable transportation, healthy family relationships, and permanent housing. They are also encouraged to mentor others, serve in the community, and use their experience to become a source of strength for another veteran.
Veterans are supported, but they are also held accountable. Participants follow program rules, remain substance-free, pay their program fees on time, complete required classes and volunteer hours, care for their living space, and participate in regular progress reviews.
The farm is more than a housing location. It is a working community where veterans can slow down, heal, learn practical skills, experience the value of contributing to something larger than themselves, and rebuild a life grounded in dignity, responsibility, and purpose.

Beyond the 3Rs: What makes us unique
Many programs provide short-term shelter or a referral to another agency. Our program is designed to walk alongside veterans for up to 48 months, giving them enough time to achieve real stability instead of rushing them through a temporary solution.
The working farm is also an important difference. Veterans are not sitting around waiting for their lives to change. They participate in meaningful, hands-on activities such as caring for animals, collecting eggs, gardening, maintaining the orchard and greenhouse, assisting with property projects, and serving the community. This work creates routine, responsibility, practical experience, and the satisfaction of seeing tangible results.
Our program also offers:
- Safe, furnished supportive housing in a small community setting
- Individual mentoring, peer support, and recovery accountability
- Job training, education planning, and employment preparation
- Life-skills, financial-management, and personal-responsibility classes
- Connections to healthcare, transportation, benefits, and community resources
- Opportunities to rebuild family and community relationships
- Faith-based support for veterans who choose to participate
- Partnerships with Veterans Court and other veteran-serving organizations
- Clear expectations concerning sobriety, program participation, rent, chores, and community conduct
Most importantly, veterans are known personally here. They are not treated as a case number or defined by their worst experience. We combine compassion with accountability because veterans need both. We meet them where they are, but we do not leave them there.
Our goal is not simply to keep a veteran housed. It is to help that veteran become healthy, employable, financially stable, connected to others, and confident enough to live independently with renewed purpose and dignity.
"Servants Heart Farm gave me a second chance at life. The support, the community, and the meaningful work helped me heal and find my purpose again."
A grateful veteran
